We support authors who want to write honestly, think critically, and explore ideas without being boxed in by the current societal rulebook. Sovereign Acres was founded by Sarah Swain, a Canadian entrepreneur, strategist, and storyteller who deeply values freedom, truth, and integrity. She created this publishing house to offer a home to authors who feel stifled by mainstream narratives and want to share stories that actually mean something.

Sarah believes in personal responsibility, creative courage, and building new systems that honour the human spirit, especially in times of censorship, fear, and division. She's not interested in labels or echo chambers. She's interested in truth, nuance, and the kind of storytelling that wakes people up with uncomfortable truths.

Her belief is simple: we need more brave voices, not polished ones. And Sovereign Acres exists to help bring those voices to the page.

No. Sovereign Acres is independently owned and not affiliated with any political party, group, or organization.

We believe politics should never control creative expression. Our job isn’t to toe a party line. It’s to publish bold, honest work that reflects the full spectrum of human experience.

Many of our authors have found themselves politically homeless over the last few years, as faith in our systems eroded, and division grew. We welcome authors from all walks of life who are willing to think for themselves, write with courage, and tell the truth as they see it. That’s not political. That’s sovereign.

If you're coming with nothing more than idea, it will depend on the type of publication you're writing.

Our solo publications carry an 8 month writing window, with 4 months of production. so one year from now, you can say you'll be a published author.

Our collaborative writing projects have an 8-9 week writing window, with 3 months of production. So your book will be in your hands in half a year!

We have bullet proof production timelines, and the resources, support and accountability you need to achieve them - without the chaos.

We're very up front and honest about this. The average author will sell around 200 books in their lifetime. If the book is hosted on sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Chapters, etc - you can expect them to take a good chunk of your profit - sometimes upwards of 60%. So when you do the math - we're not talking big dollars.

However, we do provide coaching, training & resources to help you sell your book privately as well, as 100% of your profit from each sale will remain yours - the publishing house does not take a cut from your private sales.

The main factor that will dictate your book sale success is in how you prepare for your book launch, and how engaged your community is with you. We also provide marketing & PR training.

No! We have published authors from all over. as a digitally-based publishing house, we're able to support you no matter where you are!

We all have the time to write! It just never gets to be the priority. This program is designed to help each author write to the beat of their own drum, in their own environment, in the pockets of their own time. You'd be surprised how quickly 2500 words can make it onto paper when we get intentional about what we're here to do.

That depends on you! The length of the book will influence your overall investment as larger books require more time, resources and editing. But we will support you in sharing your story, no matter its length.

No, at Sovereign Acres Publishing House you are not required to order a minimum quantity of books. If you'd like to just order one for yourself, that's great. If you'd like to order 500 because you're planning a book tour, or have scheduled speaking engagements or markets you'd like to be a part of, then we can fulfil those order quantities, too. It's entirely up to you.

Yes we do! We offer payment plans for all of our services. Should you need something a little more flexible, we will work with you to establish a payment plan that works for everyone.

Yes, your story is your intellectual property and you own the copyright to your IP. This means you are free to use your story in any other way you wish - podcast interviews, stage talks, solo publications, blogs, etc. You also own the copyright to the book itself. In other words, you retain all rights to your work.

We provide all self-publishing services, with traditional publishing value. You're not paying to become a published author. You're investing in an entire process, with a full team behind you, designed to support you every step of the way. Consider it a writing program with technical production, and the bonus is you become a published author at the end of it all!

Our co-authorship program is designed to support you in writing 2500 words. This is the equivalent t roughly 12-14 pages within the boo itself, depending on the interior design and layout of the book.

We respect everyone's wishes when it comes to how one chooses to engage in their book launch. Everyone is different. Some use social media. Some don't. Others wish to leverage our full range of marketing and PR training, while others are simply happy to have completed the publishing process, shared their story and let it find whoever it's meant to naturally. There are no contractual obligations for marketing and selling your book at Sovereign Acres Publishing House.

Yes, you sure can. While our launch focus is on Amazon, to leverage visibility, reach and top the charts, you're allowed to sell your book however you see fit. Some authors don't love Amazon, and prefer not to promote on that platform, and instead choose to sell their books privately.  Others prefer Amazon, because they don't want to deal with  markets, payment links, shipping, etc. There's total freedom here in how you choose to sell, or not sell. We provide all the information and training around this during our co-authorship writing program.

Yes, all authors are required to review and sign our standard co-authorship terms and agreement. This ensures the protection of yourself as an author, and us as a publishing house.

Our packages begin at 40,000 words, but can go as high as you like.

In our in-house productions such as The Sovereign Book Series, each author owns the copyright to their intellectual property and the copyright of the book/series itself is retained by Sovereign Acres Publishing House. This is to ensure protection of the project, intellectual property of the project, and all authors within the project.

You are free to use your own story for any other work that you do (speaking engagements, moving onto to your own solo publication, podcasts, blogs etc.) The only thing you can't do is copy and paste your story into another publication, in a way that compromises the sale of the collaborative book you are apart of.

You have the freedom to decide how this will work with your co-authors. We can advise on the framework we use for our own in-house productions, and you can feel out what will work best for you and your community. Sovereign Acres Publishing will not hold rights to your intellectual property or your book.

In a private collaborative project, Sovereign Acres Publishing provides writing resources, guidance for you as the lead author in your book, and full production. You are required to work with your authors, and support them through the process as Sovereign Acres will have no communications with your group, outside of the editing process. In other words, we will provide you with everything you need to succeed (tools, resources, guidance) but you are required to support your own authors through this process.

This is entirely up to you, and will depend on many factors such as the level of support you're committing to, what your authors receive, whether or not its tied to any other offers you may have within your own business (if applicable), publishing costs, etc. We can provide guidance here, but this is a service you are offering to your community and you will be required to price that out accordingly.

This depends on a few of factors. 1) How long your book will be (word count), 2) The intricacy of the design involved. Our base service is $12,000 CAD.

Your book will fall into our standard timeline for collaborative books, which is a 6 month timeline from applications to book release.

Project Preparation - This includes establishing the project concept, selecting a lead author, preparing all launch materials, establishing production timelines, application & onboarding.

Writing Phase - This includes a brainstorming, first-draft and final-draft phase. Within this period is where our co-authors will also receive support from the lead author, leverage our writing resources & tools, and join our monthly group support calls.

Design - Our design phase is where the cover and interior design concepts are established.

Manuscript - Once the writing process has been completed, the lead author compiles the manuscript to submit to the publishing house.

Production Cycle - During this period, the editing process is completed, followed by the implementation of design, proofreading & total review.

Final Approvals - Co-authors have a chance to sign off on their chapters, and address any minor changes that may need to be made. Followed by the formal publishing house sign off process.

Amazon Upload - The book is then uploaded to Amazon, set with the official live date as per the book's scheduled launch date.

Launch - The book is formally launched on Amazon, with a celebratory kick-off call for authors to invite their friends and family to. There is a strong focus on the launch for a period of 72 hours to climb the charts on Amazon across relative categories.

Post-Launch Debrief - The publishing house team, production team and lead author meet to discuss the project, identifying both successes to celebrate, and opportunities to continue to refine the process for future projects.

We provide marketing & PR resources for you and your authors to use. We are happy to share your book on our socials, website and email list as well to support your launch.
