Education is meant to liberate,Ā  not conform.

This volume ofĀ The SovereignĀ series is for those who chose something different.
Or who areĀ tryingĀ to.
Those who pulled their kids from traditional schools, who fought for change from the inside, who unschooled, homeschooled, hybrid-schooled, or simply asked better questions when the system demanded blind trust.

Your Lead Author: Jenna Orr

Ā

Jenna, is a learner for life.Ā  Growing up she would be found exploring the creeks for the best fort location; hiking the mountains, or combing the beaches for creatures in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. The outdoors was her playground! Sports created her grit, gardens sparked her creativity, and stories touched her soul. Family grounded her in uniqueness and values while experiences taught her to never stop BEING curious. She is an entrepreneur at heart, starting two businesses on the side called, Green Thumb Advantage, and JORR Consulting.

Jenna was an Early Childhood Educator for 15 years, and now homeschools her two boys. In the Fall of 2024, she created and hosted the North Shore Children’s Business Fair, Fall 2024 partnering up with Acton Academy. Another one is planned for May 2025. Her older son has started his own business ā€˜Knead My Bread.’ Jenna is enthusiastic about exploring the entrepreneur field with children to develop creativity, life skills, and independence, while encouraging the next generations to become incredible leaders in their own communities. The spark for writing has returned as more passion projects like this come to the surface, and she is enthusiastic about the next chapter.

As well, our robust author resources kit provides you with in depth support when it comes to defining your writing style, establishing your story, what to include, what not to include, writing timelines, depth & more.

Community

Most of our authors come into these projects expecting to simply write their story and become a published author. Yet most leave this process with unexpected new friends, andĀ connections. Writing is an intimate experience, and you're in good company with other women. Connect in our group channel, and online during our monthly group support calls.

Final ApprovalsĀ - Co-authors have a chance to sign off on their chapters, and address any minor changes that may need to be made. Followed by the formal publishing house sign off process.

Ā

All authors have full visibility of the approved timeline for each stage.

This book will share the voices of:

šŸ“– Parents and guardians who took the road less travelled in their child’s education

šŸ“– Teachers who saw behind the curtain and chose to lead with integrity

šŸ“–Families who are still inside the system, but are navigating it with eyes wide open

šŸ“– Those who branched away from the system to create alternative education services for families

šŸ“–And anyone who’s been called to reimagine what learningĀ canĀ look like, with sovereignty at its core

We know what it’s like to carry a story that wants to be told, and to wrestle with all the reasons not to.

Ā

The fear of being too much. Or not enough. The worry of being judged, misunderstood, or exposed. The pressure to get it perfect, or the question of whether it’s even worth sharing at all. At Sovereign Acres Publishing, we don’t just publish stories, we create a deeply supportive space for storytellers. If you’re feeling the pull to finally say it out loud, and the flutter of nerves that come with that… you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

Ā

We’ll walk with you the whole way.
